IRVING, TEXAS (January 14, 2008) – H.D. Vest Financial Services® was recently honored with its 5th annual financial planning award from the editors of Accounting Today, WebCPA.com, Practical Accountant and CPA Wealth Provider. H.D. Vest is one of the oldest and largest independent financial services firms specializing in training and supporting tax professionals.
H.D. Vest was recognized as one of five winners in the broker/dealer category “for leading through innovation, efficiency, initiative and growth in the financial planning area.” Specifically, the award mentioned H.D. Vest’s successful implementation of the first phase of the Paperless Office initiative and the Small-Business Virtual Summits.
“We appreciate the editors of the Source Media accounting publications for taking the time and making the effort to recognize firms in the investment industry for their innovations. The fact that these are accounting trade publications recognizing firms in the investment arena speaks volumes to the opportunity for tax professionals to leverage their tax knowledge to help their clients work toward financial goals. We can all learn from each other’s best practices,” said Roger Ochs, president of H.D. Vest.
Over 60 firms were nominated by readers for three different categories, of which 16 winners were selected by the editors along with several firms that received honorable mentions. The award recognition for H.D. Vest appears in the January 2008 edition of CPA Wealth Provider, a supplement to the January Practical Accountant, Accounting Today and Accounting Technology magazines.
